Orioles lineup and pregame notes on Henderson and Holliday before Game 2 against Red Sox

Rich Dubroff is away from the Orioles for the next two games. Here are some pregame notes based on published reports from Camden Yards.

Manager Brandon Hyde is going with a heavy right-handed lineup Wednesday night against power lefty Garrett Crochet and the Red Sox. Jackson Holliday and Heston Kjerstad will begin the game on the bench in favor of Jorge Mateo and Ramon Laureano. Gary Sánchez is catching with Adley Rutschman serving as the designated hitter. Here are the lineups for both teams:

Orioles Notes

• Shortstop Gunnar Henderson will play again Wednesday night at Norfolk, and the Orioles will decide after the game whether to activate him for Thursday’s 1:05 finale against Boston or wait until the Kansas City series. (Source: Jake Rill on X)

Red Sox Notes

• The Red Sox announced that they signed infielder/outfielder Kristian Campbell to an eight-year contract extension that spans the 2025-2032 seasons, with club options for 2033 and 2034. The deal reportedly guarantees Campbell $60 million.

• On Tuesday, Boston announced a six-year contract extension for Crochet, tonight’s starting pitcher. The deal spans the 2026-2031 seasons and reportedly guarantees Crochet $170 million.
