BALTIMORE–Right-handed pitcher Scott Blewett, who was claimed off waivers from Minnesota, has been activated by the Orioles. To make room for the 29-year-old Blewett on the 26-man roster, the Orioles optioned right-handed pitcher Colin Selby to Triple-A Norfolk.
Blewett had a 1.93 ERA in two appearances with the Twins. Selby allowed two runs on three hits in an inning in his only appearance for the Orioles.
The Orioles signed 30-year-old catcher Chadwick Tromp to a minor league contract and assigned him to Triple-A Norfolk. The 5-foot-8 right-handed hitter was released by the Atlanta Braves. He was hitless in five at-bats for the Braves this season. In parts of six seasons with Atlanta and San Francisco, Tromp is a .224 hitter with five home runs and 22 RBIs in 61 games.
