With spring training officially underway, and prospect lists dotting the Internet, it seems like a perfect time to focus on a few of the Orioles more important minor leaguers heading into 2017.

What are national sites thinking about catcher Chance Sisco? What is Hunter Harvey’s timeline coming back from Tommy John surgery? How crucial is this year for Oliver Drake? Will any Oriole farmhand pull a Garabez Rosa and raise eyebrows with his play this March?

In this episode of “Minor League Podcast,” Adam Pohl and Dean Jones Jr., take a stab at those questions.

Pohl, the voice of the Double-A Bowie Baysox, has some interesting thoughts on why Sisco was completely left off one Top 100 list for MLB prospects. Pohl also goes a little deeper into the backstory of Drake (pictured above), who was drafted by the Orioles out of the U.S. Naval Academy.

Jones talks about who he is going to be watching closely this spring from a minors’ perspective. And, he suggests, maybe a couple of those guys will have an impact on the 2017 big-league club.

There’s no primary focus during this week’s podcast. It’s sort of a grab bag of information. Just two knowledgeable guys talking minor league baseball in February.

Yeah, it’s the perfect time to listen to that.
