Local products were frequent selections in draft’s final day

The Orioles made 30 selections on Day Three of the 2017 First-Year Player Draft on Wednesday, completing rounds 11-40. This year, the O’s selected 41 players overall: 21 pitchers and 20 position players, with 29 of the selections being college athletes. The team chose 12 right-handed pitchers, nine left-handed pitchers, eight infielders, seven outfielders, four catchers, and one utility player.

The Orioles didn’t select any players with local ties in this draft. But here are some Maryland products that were selected on day three:

Picked in round 14 (422nd overall) by the New York Yankees

Junior Harding, Jr., RHP, Chipola College
Graduate of Cambridge-South Dorchester High School; picked in round 17 (497th overall) by the Cincinnati Reds
