We’re not sure you can have a much better game than Key School junior Mark Fusco did last week.
Apparently, BaltimoreBaseball.com readers felt that way, too.
Fusco is this week’s ‘Prep Ballplayer’ winner, picking up 72 percent of the more than 2,000 votes cast this week.
The right-hander allowed one unearned run and two hits while recording 14 of his 15 outs via strikeout in an 11-1 win over Rockbridge Academy. Fusco also had four RBIs in the contest, including a three-run homer. That’s coming off an earlier performance last week in which he had two hits and drove in a run.
Fusco was one of three worthy candidates for the weekly award. He was joined by South Carroll’s Jonathan Money and Chesapeake’s Joe Seidler.
We’ll have three more standouts to highlight on Monday afternoon.
Then you’ll get to vote – early and often – for the finalist you believe should be our winner. Voting ends every Thursday night and the winner is announced each Friday.
If you’re interested in submitting candidates for our consideration, please send the player’s name, key statistics from the previous week and your contact information by Sunday afternoon to sean@baltimorebaseball.com. We welcome suggestions and your feedback.
