MLB announces Orioles’ 2019 schedule

If the 2018 Orioles season has you down, let’s just fast forward to 2019. Major League Baseball released its schedule for next season, and the Orioles will open at Yankee Stadium on March 28.

It’s the first time the Orioles have opened their season in the Bronx since April 10, 1962.

After three games in New York, which includes a scheduled off-day for March 29, they’ll play three in Toronto and return to Baltimore for the April 4 home opener against the Yankees. It’s their first home opener against New York since 2009.

The Orioles’ interleague schedule includes their first visit by the San Francisco Giants since 2004 (May 31-June 2) and trips by the Los Angeles Dodgers (Sept. 10-12), San Diego (June 25-26) and Washington (July 16-17).

Baltimore will play the Colorado Rockies May 24-26 in their first trip to Denver since 2004. They’re also scheduled to play in Arizona (July 22-24), San Diego (July 29-30) and Washington (Aug. 27-28).

The Yankees’ trips to Baltimore are April 4-7, May 20-23 and Aug. 5-7. Boston is scheduled for visits May 6-8, June 14-16 and July 19-21.

The Orioles also released home game times, which are subject to change. Night games will continue to begin at 7:05. Sunday game times will remain at 1:05.

Besides the 3:05 time for the April 4 opener, the Orioles have listed 4:05 starts for June 1 (San Francisco), 15 (Boston) and 29 (Cleveland). In addition to the opener, there are three weekday afternoon games: April 11 vs Oakland (12:35), May 23 vs. New York (12:35) and June 26 vs. San Diego (3;05)

The Orioles are home on Memorial Day (May 27 vs. Detroit at 1:05), idle on July 4 and at Tampa Bay for Labor Day on Sept. 2.

Their longest homestand (10 games from August 1-11 with Toronto, New York and Houston) is preceded by the longest road trip (nine games in Arizona, Los Angeles and San Diego July 22-30).

The Orioles are scheduled to close their home season against Seattle on Sept. 22 and take a final road trip to Toronto and Boston Sept. 23-29.

    • Orioles still aren’t assured of the No. 1 pick this year. They’re one game behind the Royals for worst record, jbigle.

And, Mau next year may be just as challenging as this year.

      • Yeah, the royals are as poor of a team as us. You’d think they’ll eek out a few more wins because they still have a few guys who can play on that team. Hopefully they do. Cobb is the only guy in our rotation giving us a legitimate chance to win when he takes the hill. It looks like we’ll be #1 or 2 with them the next 2 years

  • So there is actually no game on the 4th of July. How strange. I remember a few years ago the Milwaukee Brewers had a Sunday off.

    • Thursday is a popular day to have off, and the next day they’ll begin a three-game series in Toronto where July 4 isn’t a holiday, gary.
