Voting picked up in the latter part of the week and more than 57 percent of the 25,814 total votes cast went to Indian Creek’s Alex Seidleck.
Seidleck used an impressive performance against St. Frances on April 8 to take home the Prep Ballplayer of the Week crown.
The right-hander threw a no-hitter with 12 strikeouts in the Eagles’ 19-0 five-inning victory. He also had three doubles and four RBIs.
The sophomore was one of three candidates for the weekly award. He was joined by Archbishop Spalding’s Adam Barclay, who finished second with more than 10,000 votes, and Westminster’s Haden Hoff.
If you’re visiting our Prep Ballplayer voting for the first time, here’s how things work: Three candidates will be revealed each Monday. You get to vote in the poll – early and often – for the finalist you believe should be our winner. Voting ends every Thursday night and the winner is announced each Friday.
If you’re interested in submitting candidates for our consideration, please send the player’s name, key statistics from the previous week and your contact information to sean@baltimorebaseball.com. We welcome suggestions and your feedback.
