Century’s Jared Lamb tossed a gem last week against South Carroll. The voters took notice as the right-hander earned more than 96 percent of the vote, en route to our Prep Ballplayer of the Week award.
Lamb struck out 11 hitters on April 15 in the team’s 1-0 extra-inning victory. He pitched seven of the eight innings and combined on a no-hitter with teammate Matt Born.
The senior was one of three candidates for the weekly award. He was joined by Calvert Hall’s Jose Torres and Oakland Mill’s Ben Looper.
If you’re visiting our Prep Ballplayer voting for the first time, here’s how things work: Three candidates will be revealed each Monday. You get to vote in the poll – early and often – for the finalist you believe should be our winner. Voting ends every Thursday night and the winner is announced each Friday.
If you’re interested in submitting candidates for our consideration, please send the player’s name, key statistics from the previous week and your contact information to sean@baltimorebaseball.com. We welcome suggestions and your feedback.
