• For anyone watching the Astros/Red Sox game tonight, Nathan Eovaldi just proved again why he is a stud pitcher. On short rest, he strikes out the side with men on second and third with none out in the bottom of the 4th. That’s big game pitching right there.

  • BRR, I’ve bit my lip on this long enough. A-Coke simply tastes a helluva lot better and B-Pepsi was more woke than Coke will ever be long before the the phrase was ever even invented.

    • A - I agree ... although my palette is fast becoming more and more attached to Pepsi Zero Sugar.

      B - I disagree ...because .... I never read of any Pepsi corporate training program emploring it's employees to be "less white". Nor do I remember Pepsi boycotting Facebook for refusing to censor Donald Trump at any time. Nor do I remember Pepsi interjectiing itself into the political spectrum by lambasting Georgian Election laws that were legally passed by duely elected officials of that state. Lastly I don't remember Pepsi lobbying against any bill that would ban products made with forced labor in China! Admittedly, this one isn't necessarily "woke" ... hypocritcal and despicable certainly, but maybe not woke.

      I've read of the Coca Cola Corp. doing or being linked, to all these examples. There are way too many other examples ... but my fingers are too tired to continue on.

      Now I know of the Kendall Jenner Pepsi commercial which some analyze as being "woke" .. but one commerical directed at a specific demographic? I know of nothing else ...if you do ... please enlighten me.

      One last thing...Pepsi is the official cola of the Dallas Cowboys. Good enough for me!

      • Coke, Pepsi, 7Up, etc. are equal. Equally BAD for you. I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer, but we all need to keep our health so we can enjoy the Orioles' reemergence as winners--and that won't be for three years at a minimum. Drink water or, as suggested below, beer. From AARP's website:

  • BRR, of course you are correct in listing all those things Coke has done and I agree they are legitimate gripes. So I’ll admit I shouldn’t have said Pepsi is more woke than Coke will ever be. My problems with Pepsi, aside from the disgusting sicky sweet taste, go way back to when they decided to sell their soul and have Michael Jackson, then Madonna and then Ludacris as their paid endorsers for their products. Now that LeBron James has switched from endorsing Coke to Pepsi it just solidifies my wanting to stay with Coke. But I admit, you are certainly correct about all the woke BS Coke has done. Perhaps I’ll just stay with my Swiss Premium tea and be done with both of them. Thanks for calling me out, I admit I was not aware of ALL the things Coke has done. Better yet, I’ll keep my comments strictly about the O’s.

    underhanded tanking and cheating ways.

  • I like your last paragraph and agree entirely, but I’m still glad “Bahstan” lost.
    And I’ve even seen a game in Fenway, which was an amazing experience.
    I just enjoy October baseball.

    • I grew up in Worcester ... 6th thru 11th grade (Army brat) ... saw maybe 50 to 60 games there. Greenest place I've ever seen. But what I most remember about the building were the nasty mens rooms with stainless steel troughs to pee in with trash floating by. Classy.

  • When I went to Fenway, it was an unusually hot summer day. Behind us were some particularly loud guys. A vendor came buy selling bottles water at $6. The guys behind us holler out ”

  • Sorry - hit the post comment button early - anyway, these guys are riding the vendor saying in that annoying accent “$6 for a bottled water?” “That’s highway ROBBERY!” They say it several times.
    Then the same guy says “gimme two of ’em!”
    That cracked me up and I never forgot it. Don’t even remember the score of the game.

• I thought that Wynns was the better receiver. He could possibly help Rutschman get up to speed, as well as, help with his adjustment to the majors.
