The Orioles placed infielder Ramón Urías on the 10-day injured list on Tuesday because of a left hamstring muscle strain. He injured it in the ninth inning of Monday’s 3-0 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays.

It was one of a number of moves made by the Orioles.

They also optioned left-handed pitcher Keegan Akin to Triple-A Norfolk after Monday’s game and recalled left-hander Drew Rom.

Catcher Luis Torrens, whom the Orioles acquired last week from the Cubs for cash considerations, was designated for assignment.

First baseman/outfielder Ryan O’Hearn and infielder Terrin Vavra were recalled from Norfolk.

Rom, who was in Norfolk’s starting rotation, has yet to pitch in the major leagues.
