The 29-year-old has 254 games of major league experience in the last five seasons, four with Colorado and one with the Braves. He’s stolen 19 bases in 20 attempts.
Hilliard has played all three outfield positions with most of his experience in center and left.
In 2021, Hilliard hit .215 with 14 home runs and 34 RBIs in 81 games with the Rockies.
The Orioles designated right-handed pitcher Joey Krehbiel for assignment. Krehbiel was 1-0 with a 1.80 ERA in six games with the Orioles this season. In 2022, Krehbiel was 5-5 with a 3.90 ERA and one save in 56 games.
