With the Orioles’ lease at Camden Yards expiring on December 31st and premature reports last week that there was an agreement on a new 30-year lease, the Maryland Stadium Authority has scheduled a meeting on Monday morning on the lease.
The agenda for the meeting reads:
Baseball Stadium Lease Extension and Amendment
Generally, extends existing Ballpark lease; and includes:
Time for feasibility studies and governmental approvals to create a development
plan;
Time for approvals of a Ground Lease agreement and a Master Development
Plan;
Options if a Ground Lease agreement and a Master Development Plan are not
approved by a certain date, to include entering into a new Facility Use
Agreement with a 30-year term.
Baseball Stadium Facility Use Agreement
Draft agreement to memorialize the terms and conditions of the 30-year lease
agreement to take effect upon approval of the Ground Lease agreement and Master
Development Plan.
The Orioles did not respond to requests for comment on the lease.
