The Orioles acquired outfielder Peyton Burdick from the Miami Marlins on Wednesday for cash considerations. Burdick, who’ll turn 27 on February 26th, is a right-handed hitter who plays each of the three outfield positions.
Burdick, who has two options remaining, hit .200 with five home runs and 13 RBIs in 46 games with the Marlins in 2022 and 2023.
To make room for Burdick on the 40-man roster, the Orioles placed Félix Bautista on the 60-day injured list. Bautista is recovering from Tommy John surgery.
The addition of Burdick means the Orioles will have 61 players in camp, including Bautista.
