Orioles’ minor league roundup: Means allows 3 runs in 4 1/3 innings in rehab start for Norfolk; Bradfield goes to injured list

In his fifth rehab start for Triple-A Norfolk, Oriole starter John Means allowed three runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings, walking one and striking out five. Means threw 79 pitches against Gwinnett.

Means is on the 15-day injured list with a left forearm strain. He could pitch again on Sunday as his 30-day rehab stint, which began March 31st, nears its end.

Double-A Bowie lost to Richmond, 6-2. Starter Seth Johnson (0-3) allowed five runs, three unearned, walking three and striking out one in 2 1/3 innings. Leftfielder John Rhodes hit a two-run home run, his first.

Outfielder Enrique Bradfield Jr. was placed on the injured list by High-A Aberdeen. Bradfield left Saturday’s IronBirds game after he was tagged in the head while sliding home. Bradfield, who was the Orioles’ first-round draft pick in 2023, is hitting .234 with nine stolen bases in 13 games for Aberdeen.
