Orioles’ minor league roundup: Norfolk allows 20 runs; Basallo leaves with thumb injury

Triple-A Norfolk lost to Worcester, 20-4. Starting pitcher Justin Armbruester allowed six runs on five hits in four innings. Armbruester (1-3) surrendered three home runs and his earned-run average rose to 9.35.

Shortstop Nick Maton hit his sixth home run and rightfielder Heston Kjerstad drove in two runs.

Catcher Samuel Basallo was removed from Double-A Bowie’s game for the second straight time. On Sunday, he left because of dizziness, and on Tuesday, he left after being hit in the right thumb while blocking a ball in the Baysox’s 9-4 loss to Richmond. Basallo hit his sixth home run, and centerfielder Jud Fabian hit his eighth.

Starter Trace Bright allowed four runs on five hits in four innings.

In his first game with High-A Aberdeen, left-hander Luis DeLéon, the Orioles’ 17th-ranked prospect, allowed two runs on three hits in the IronBirds’ 9-6 loss to Jersey Shore. Second baseman Tavian Josenberger had three hits and rightfielder Mac Horvath hit his third home run. Reliever Dominic Freeberger gave up four runs in the ninth inning.

Michael Forret allowed three hits in five scoreless innings in Single-A Delmarva’s 6-5 loss to Columbia. Centerfielder Thomas Sosa hit his third home run.
