BALTIMORE—Jackson Holliday, MLB Pipeline’s top prospect in minor league baseball, will return to Triple-A Norfolk on Tuesday night as a designated hitter.

Holliday was placed on the minor league injured list on June 14th with right elbow inflammation. He will serve exclusively as a DH for several weeks as part of his progression, the Orioles said.

In 50 games with Norfolk, Holliday, who was playing mostly second base but also some shortstop, is batting .270 with seven home runs and 28 RBIs with an .898 OPS. He’s walked and struck out 54 times and has a .433 on-base percentage.

Holliday played 10 games with the Orioles in April, hitting .059 (2-for-34) with an RBI. He struck out 18 times and walked twice.

Outfielder Enrique Bradfield Jr., the team’s first-round draft pick last year, has what the Orioles are calling “minor left wrist tendinitis,” and he’ll miss the next several games with High-A Aberdeen.

Bradfield is hitting .258 with two home runs and 15 RBIs with 34 stolen bases in 42 attempts.
