Double-A Bowie catcher/first baseman Samuel Basallo will represent the Orioles in the July 13th Futures Game in Arlington, Texas.

Basallo, the 12th-rated prospect by MLB Pipeline will turn 20 on August 13th is hitting .278 with a .794 OPS, 11 home runs and 34 RBIs.

He’s started 26 games at catcher, 18 at first base and 20 at designated hitter.

The Futures Game will be played at 4:10 p.m. on July 13th at Globe Life Park and seen on MLB Network. Play-by-play will be handled by Orioles’ broadcaster Melanie Newman
