BALTIMORE–In their continuing pursuit of arms for the bullpen, the Orioles acquired right-hander Colin Selby from the Kansas City Royals for cash considerations on Thursday.
Selby, a 26-year-old right-hander, had a 6.00 ERA in two games with Kansas City. In 21 games with Pittsburgh last season, Selby was 2-2 with a 9.00 ERA.
The Orioles optioned Selby to Triple-A Norfolk. To make room for him on the 40-man roster, the Orioles transferred pitcher Kyle Bradish from the 15-day to 60-day injured list. Bradish had Tommy John surgery and is out for the season.
