Orioles right-hander Grayson Rodrigue was scratched from Tuesday’s start against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre just as he began his warm-up for the game.
The Orioles say that Rodriguez was scratched because of right lat/teres discomfort.
Albert Suárez started in place of Rodriguez and threw five scoreless innings.
The 24-year-old Rodriguez was set to make his 21st start of the season. He has a 13-4 record with a 3.86 ERA.
He was sidelined for three months in 2022 at Triple-A Norfolk with a Grade 2 lat strain. He also missed time earlier this season because of right shoulder inflammation.
