The Orioles placed right-hander Grayson Rodriguez, who was scratched from Tuesday’s start against the Toronto Blue Jays at Rogers Centre ,on the 15-day injured list with right lat/teres discomfort. The move is retroactive to Sunday.
They also placed outfielder/designated hitter Heston Kjerstad on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to August 1st, with a concussion. Kjerstad was on the 7-day concussion injured list after he was hit on the helmet by a pitch on July 12th.
Kjerstad was sent to Triple-A Norfolk on August 1st after the Orioles traded for designated hitter Eloy Jiménez and outfielder Austin Slater but hadn’t played in a game for the Tides.
The Orioles recalled left-hander Keegan Akin from Norfolk. Akin was sent to Norfolk on August 1st after they traded for left-handed reliever Gregory Soto. Akin did not pitch for the Tides and is 2-0 with a 3.34 ERA in 47 games.
