Most weekdays, I’ll be answering at least one Orioles question. If you’d like to submit a question, send it to: [email protected]. Questions may be edited for clarity, length and style.

Question: Corbin Burnes has given up a lot of stolen bases this year, and from what I’ve seen, it’s been more the fault of Burnes (with a slow delivery) than the catcher’s.  I foresee that being a problem in the postseason.  Did Burnes have that same problem in past years when he was with Milwaukee? From: Rick Newell,

Answer: Rick, in Burnes’ career, baserunners have been successful in nearly 86 percent of stolen-base attempts (84 of 98), though it’s been more pronounced this season (33 of 37) with an 89 percent success rate.

Question: I don’t know if we can sign Anthony Santander next year, but Is there any Rule 5 player that is more successful than he has been? From: Lyle Diamond

Answer: Lyle, I don’t know if the Orioles can re-sign Anthony Santander, either, but he has been the best Rule 5 selection the Orioles have made, though they did draft Paul Blair in the minor league portion of the Rule 5.

If you’re talking about all-time selections, I think it would be hard to beat Roberto Clemente, who the Pirates selected from the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1954.
