The Orioles signed right-handed reliever Nick Anderson to a minor league contract. The 34-year-old Anderson is 14-7 with a 3.18 ERA and 10 saves in a five-year major league career with Tampa Bay, Miami, Atlanta and Kansas City.
Anderson was 3-1 with a 4.04 ERA with a save in 37 games with the Royals this season. He opted out of his minor league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers on Tuesday.
Signing Anderson enables the Orioles to include him on the postseason roster. In 2019 and 2020, Anderson appeared in 14 postseason games with the Rays.
In order for the Orioles to add Anderson, a spot will have to be found on the 40-man roster.
