BALTIMORE–Relief pitcher Danny Coulombe was placed on the 15-day injured list because of left biceps tendinitis. The move was retroactive to Wednesday. The left-hander, who is 3-1 with a save and a 2.77 earned-run average in 47 games, warmed up twice on Tuesday night, manager Brandon Hyde said.
“Just didn’t feel like his arm was getting loose,” Hyde said. “Danny’s pitched a ton this year. When you’re a left-handed reliever, there’s nights when you get up and you don’t get use. He’s had a heavy workload this year. He’s got a little bit of soreness. We’re going to give him a couple of weeks and hopefully he’ll be back when the IL stint is over.”
The Orioles recalled right-hander Joey Krehbiel from Triple-A Norfolk. Krehbiel was optioned after Tuesday night’s game against the Houston Astros to make room for Jacob Webb. Krehbiel has thrown 1 2/3 spotless innings.
Six-man rotation? Kyle Bradish’s scheduled start will be pushed back to Sunday in Seattle and the Orioles will start Cole Irvin on Saturday.

“We’re going to try to give guys extra days as we go along here,” Hyde said. “Try to keep our starting pitching as fresh as possible.”
Hyde said that may not be Irvin’s only start.
“We’d definitely look at that, giving Cole more starts,” Hyde said. “You never now. Things happen quickly. That’s our plan right now with Cole there, to give guys extra days.”
Tyler Wells will pitch on Saturday for Double-A Bowie in Richmond.
