Orioles sign Julio Teheran to minor league deal

For the second time this year, the Orioles signed right-hander Julio Teheran to a minor league contract. Teheran was signed to a minor league deal on February 28th but was released when he did not make the major league club.

The 33-year-old Teheran pitched in one game for the New York Mets, allowing four runs on six hits in 2 2/3 innings and was released on April 11th. He signed with he Chicago Cubs a week later and opted out of his minor league deal last Saturday.

In 13 seasons with Atlanta, Milwaukee, Detroit, the Los Angeles Angels and the Mets, Teheran is 81-82 with a 3.95 earned-run average.

Teheran’s signing was first reported by the New York Post and confirmed by an industry source.
