The Orioles placed right-handed pitcher Cody Poteet on the 15-day injured list with right shoulder inflammation. The move is retroactive to Sunday.

Poteet allowed five runs on six hits in 2 2/3 innings in Sunday’s 24-2 loss to Cincinnati. He was recalled when Brandon Young was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk after making his major league debut on Saturday.

Young now returns to the Orioles to replace Poteet on the roster. He allowed three runs on seven hits in four innings on Saturday.
