Welington Castillo, Chicago White Sox
When last we checked in on Castillo in April, he was off to a slow start at the plate for the White Sox. Things have only gotten worse for him since. Although he picked up his offensive production a bit (a .267 average and .774 OPS in 33 games), Castillo’s season was torpedoed when he tested positive for the performance-enhancing drug Erythropoietin in May.
MLB handed Castillo an 80-game suspension without pay starting May 24. The earliest he’s eligible to return to the White Sox is Aug. 23.
