Derrick Booker’s bat did the talking last week. And the voters listened.
The Archbishop Curley outfielder picked up 65 percent of the more than 15,000 vote casts to take home our first Prep Ballplayer of the Week award.
Booker used two hits, one a home run, to knock in four runs in the Friars’ 21-3 win over St. Paul’s on March 25. Two days later, he hit a solo shot and a grand slam – increasing his weekly RBI total to nine – in the team’s 10-3 victory over Archbishop Spalding.
The senior was one of three worthy candidates for the weekly award. He was joined by Key’s Colin Ostenso and Catonsville’s Will Jones.
