NEW YORK—The Orioles reinstated Chris Davis from the 10-day injured list on Tuesday. Davis had been on the injured list because left knee patella tendinitis since August 21st.

Davis is batting .122 with one RBI in 15 games.

“Chris, the last few days had been taking quite a few at-bats at Bowie,” manager Brandon Hyde said in his Tuesday pregame video conference call. “He feels a lot better. I just spoke with him a couple of hours ago. He feels good. He’s ready to go. I’m going to find spots to possibly play him.”

Davis is not in the starting lineup against the New York Mets on Tuesday.

“When I make the lineup out, I’m going to give our team that day the best chance to win, and if CD’s a part of the lineup that day, then he is. If he’s not, he’s going to be ready to pinch-hit that day.”

Hyde said it was possible that Davis would start against the New York Mets’ Rick Porcello on Wednesday night.

“Chris is one part of the team, and I make the decision to play him or not based on a lot of factors,” Hyde said.

To make room for Davis on the 28-man roster, the Orioles designated infielder Dilson Herrera for assignment.

Herrera was hitless in five at-bats.

Fulmer activated: Carson Fulmer was activated on Monday night, and he’s eager for his chance to pitch for the Orioles.

Fulmer was claimed on waivers on Saturday from the Pittsburgh Pirates. He didn’t pitch for Pittsburgh after he was claimed from Detroit on August 24th. Fulmer had a 6.75 ERA in seven games for Detroit this season.

“I’ve been through a couple of teams the last month or so,” Fulmer said “They’re going to try to give me as many innings as possible.”

Fulmer was 6-9 with a 6.51 ERA in 51 games for the Chicago White Sox from 2016-2019.

He threw a bullpen session for the Orioles on Monday.

“Definitely unexpected,” Fulmer said. “I was fortunate enough to stay and be with this organization. It’s definitely brought a lot of things into perspective for me. It’s motivated me a lot to get back to where I was. I’m definitely going to take this opportunity and run with it.”

Fulmer was the eighth overall pick by the White Sox in 2015 from Vanderbilt.

“When I got here a couple of days ago, I was able to talk to the staff,” Fulmer said. “They just want me to get back to the guy I was, and the guy that was drafted where I was.

“I want to get back to my Vandy days. I want to get back to the pitcher I was.”

Branden Kline was returned to the Bowie alternate site to make room for Fulmer.
